- First start with a gel cleanser or a cleanser made specifically for oily skin types. Start by applying a warm cloth to your face for a few minutes. Then apply your cleanser all over your face in circular motions avoiding the eye area.
- The second step is optional but I recommend it, especially for oily skin. Tone your skin with an astringent to remove all dirt and impurities you may have missed during the cleansing process.
- Third step is to hydrate your skin. Use an oil free moisturizer.
- Fourth step is for morning routine only. Be sure to protect your skin with an oil free sunblock, preferably with a SPF of 30.
- This last tip is to do once or twice a week. Get a gentle exfoliate or face scrub and exfoliate before cleansing.
It's important to wash your face once in the morning and once at night. You don't want to over do it. By over washing your skin, you can actually cause your skin to produce more oil. So stick to twice a day.
Stay tuned for more skin care advice based upon your own skin type in the Great Skin for Spring Series here at A Little More Beautiful!

This can be a bit of a sticky beauty topic. I posted about this before but I've gotten several people asking me how to properly use falsies and it seems my post got lost. Here we go, anyway:-)
There are so many fake eyelashes out there these days-some are natural looking and some are made to be bold and dramatic. False lashes can be an incredible eye enhancing tool.
Falsies come in a few different "types" such as:
Individuals- These are small clusters of lases knotted at the base. They can look comepletely natural when done correctly.
Half strips- these are smaller strips of lashes meant to be placed on the outter half of the upper lash line.
Full Strips- Pretty self explainatory here. Full lash strips meant to be worn along the entire lash line.
Alot of people have a difficult time applying false lashes. It can be pretty tricky but here are a few tips to help you with the process!
Here's what you'll need:
Eyelash glue (preferably dark glue)
Your chosen lashes
1.If you're wary of the length, go ahead and trim them with a small manifure scissors.
2. Put a thin line of eyelash glue along the base of the lash strip. Use a dark eyelash glue so you don't get white spots showing through.
3. Us a little more glue on both edges of the strip to prevent them from coming loose.
4. Place the strip as close to your lashline as you can get them.
5. Press the strip gently but firmly with a wooden cuticle stick for good hold.
6. Try not to blink for 10-15 seconds so that the lashes dry in place and don't slip around.
7. Use a dark eyeliner (gel or liquid liners work particularly well in this case) to help the fake lashes blend with your real ones.
8. Apply some mascara to further help blend fake with real.
False lashes are fun, flirty, and sexy. They're alot of really funky and fun styles to choose from as well as really pretty, natural, or sexy styles. Falsies are an affordable little beauty tool and can really enhance one's eyes.
Some great Brands to try are: NYC eyelashes (Only around $2!) Revlon false lashes, and MAC lashes (Around $12).

Karma Nail Polish Remover comes in Tea Tree, Lavender, and Unscented. All the nail polish removers are:
- 100% Biodegradable
- 100% Soy and Corn based
- Free of any Petroleum Ingredients
- Derived from Farm Crops which in turn supports american farming
- Packaged in 100% recyclable glass bottles
- Comes in Lavendar, Tea Tree, or Unscented
I had the opportunity to try the Nail Polish remover in unscented and the first thing I noticed, obviously is there was no harsh, nostril burning smell! That to me was so wonderful because it's a huge reason I stray from doing my nails in the first place. I have a very sensitive nose so this product is an absolute blessing!
The second thing I noticed is how it very effectively removes polish-all polishes, any brand, organic or non-organic. It worked as effectively as any other polish remover I've ever tried. Plus, it didn't seem to leave my nails or cuticles dry at all! Not to mention that I'm a big fan of the packaging. Hardly anything comes in glass bottles anymore and I think it adds a nice touch. Very pretty!
This is a very effective product with a lot of added bonuses. If you love to do your nails and can't stand the smell of the products you use to remove polishes this is a fantastic alternative! You can find out more about the products offered by Karma Organics and order at their website here! Stay tuned for a review on Karma Organics Nail Polish!
Having great looking skin makes one's daily beauty routine go much more smoothly. There are so many types of skincare products out there and there is no one size fits all skin care regime.
Here are some basics to getting great skin:
1. Find out what skin type your are. Wash your face with a gentle cleanser. After a few minutes, blot face with blotting paper or tissue. If just your t-zone is oily and the rest of your face is normal to dry, you have combination skin. If it's oily all over, you have oily skin. If it's red and irritated you probably have sensitive skin and if your skin feels dry and tight all over you have dry skin.
2. Get Skincare products suited to your skin type. Usually a three step system of cleanser, toner, moisturizer, some times a night cream or heavier moisturizer for nighttime.
3. Wash your face twice a day. Once in the morning and once at night. Over washing your skin can lead to dryness, irritation, or further breakouts.
4. Keep it up! It usually takes several weeks before you'll notice improvement so don't get discouraged and give up!
An extra tip: Even if you have oily skin, you still needs to moisturize! Just find a moisturizer that's oil-free and made for oily-combination skin types.
Clinque has 3-step skincare systems sold in kits, for specific skin types. If you visit their website at www.clinique.com you can take a 9-question survey and they'll tell you your skin type and which 3-step set would be right for you. There are also many other brands who have great skincare lines and if anyone has any question, feel free to e-mail me anytime! (firstname.lastname@example.org)

Prep + Prime Line Filler ($19.50)
Prep + Prime Line Filler is a targeted deep wrinkle filler with long term skincare benefits that uses a unique technological breakthrough. Line Filler plumps and smoothes skin and drastically reduces the appearance of wrinkles and expression lines. A combination of Gatuline Expression™ and Argireline work together to relax the appearance of facial tension and expression lines, as well as boost the skin’s natural collagen production. Line Filler produces immediate results, but will also help eliminate the appearance of expression lines with continued use. The product is designed to be used under or over makeup and can also be used to touch up throughout the day.
Prep + Prime Skin Refined Zone ($19.50)
Prep + Prime Skin Refined Zone is a partial primer designed for use in the T-Zone. This lightweight, oil-free, soy-based emulsion instantly helps minimize visible pores while helping to control excess surface oil and shine. M·A·C employs High Tech Optics, an advanced technology powder and light diffusers to fill in lines. The result: an invisible, natural-looking, long-lasting matte finish that also helps keep pores clean, clear and unclogged. It mattifies and hides imperfections using advanced powders and microspheres while a Mannose-Phosphate blend gently exfoliates away dead cells giving the skin a more youthful look and silica particles absorb oil. In addition to immediately minimizing pore appearance and shine, 24% experience an increased luminosity and clarity of the skin. Additionally, clinical tests show that over time, the Prep + Prime Skin Refined Zone reduces the appearance of clogged pores and shrinks the appearance of pores to nearly two-thirds of its original size.
Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Powder ($21.00)
Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Powder is not your usual translucent powder. With a virtually invisible feather-light, silky colorless application, the powder both reduces shine and maintains radiance due to a finely milled formula of corn starch, silica and micronized mica. Though it was designed to set and stabilize makeup, it can also be worn alone over moisturizer for a natural and radiant complexion. It was also a huge hit backstage during fashion week and was used at nearly every major show including Zac Posen, Badgley Mischka, Stella McCartney, Behnaz Sarafpour, Alberta Ferretti and Giles.
129SH All-purpose for blush or face powder. This brush is particularly good for blush application. The fibers are soft and form a full, rounded shape.

Who doesn't want perfect skin, say, like....Halle Berry!? The problem is, a lot of women struggle in determining what type of skin they have. It's an important thing to know because it's the first step in deciding upon a proper skincare regimen. Also, what type of foundation you use depends on your personal skin type. Here are some tips to figuring it out for yourself!!
Oily Skin: If you have oily skin, you probably notice alot of shine as well as larger pores. Oily skin is often prone to breakouts.
Normal Skin: Skin that is mostly even in tone, with few blemishes and requiring only light moisture.
Dry Skin: Skin that is blotchy and/or flaky. Skin feels tight after washing and tends to absorb moisture quickly.
Combination Skin: Probably the most common skin type! If you have combination skin you probably have an oily t-zone (nose, forehead, and chin) with normal to dry cheeks/jawline, etc.
Sensitive Skin: Easily irritated skin. Can be very hard to find skin care products. Skin tone is often blotchy or uneven. Skin can also be dry and require alot of moisture.
So, which skin type are you? Now that you know, the next step is to find the perfect skincare routine! Stay tuned for skincare regimen tips for each skin type in A Little More Beautiful's Great Skin for Spring series!
