Great Skin for Spring/Summer: How to Care for Combination Skin Types!

Combination skin types are pretty tricky to take care of! It is by far the most common skin type but it can be hard to find the right kind of products to use and the perfect routine. Usually the skin around the eye and cheek area tend to be normal to dry while the t-zone tends to be more oily. The trick to combination skin is to try and balance it all out!

Tip #1: Use a foaming cleanser that has hydrating benefits, or you can specifically look for cleansers that are made to deal with combination skin. (Lush makes some great cleansers, toners, and moisturizers for combination skin types )

Tip #2: Tone skin with a *balancing* toner! This will help with evening out skin, removing any last traces of makeup, impurities or left over cleanser.

Tip #3: Exfoliate skin one-two times a week with a gentle exfoliator. Just rub it gently in a circular motion for 2-3 minutes and rinse off and pat skin dry.

Tip #4: Moisturize skin with either a moisturizer specifically for combination skin or two different moisturizers: one to control oil in the t-zone areas ( MAC Oil Control Lotion is great! ) and one to hydrate skin in areas that are dry( like MAC Studio Moisture Fix )

Tip #5: A great little "extra" you can do for your combination skin is to use a balancing mask 1-2 times a week. ( I have been using Balancing Clay Mask with Hectorite Clay & Copper and absolutely love it!!)

Tip #6: Be sure to protect your skin with Sunblock with an SPF of 30. Find an oil-free formula and you'll be good to go!

With these tips you should be able to find just the right skin routine to keep your complexion gorgeous! Just always be sure to give your new products 3-4 weeks to start really working their magic before giving up. Always be consistent and keep up with your Skin Care and results will be worth it!!
