All About Concealer!

(Above Photo: Studio Direct Complete Corrector Kit, $19.99, Available at: Studio Direct Cosmetics)

If you're like most women, you probably have some skin issues you wouldn't mind concealing. Some women can get away with just a foundation but alot of us need a little extra coverage. The question is, what kind of concealer do we need? There are different kinds of concealer for different problems and hopefully this will help you figure out what kind would best suit your own personal needs!

Regular, everyday concealer: A formula that is similar in color to your foundation but perhaps a shade lighter as well as a little thicker and less sheer. This provides more coverage than most foundations.

Lavender Concealer: Reduces yellow in one's complexion.

Green Concealer: Cancels out redness in skin tones- great for Rosacea and broken capillaries.

Pink Concealer: Perfect for covering blue veins, liver spots and age spots.

Orange/Peach Concealer: This is great to cover dark purple or blue circles under your eyes. Also good for covering scars/ acne scars.

Those are the main color correcting concealers and if you get the proper use down, the results can be pretty amazing! The best way to use color correcting concealers is to use your corrector on the area you want to conceal, tapping and blending gently with your fingertips or a brush and blend it out slightly past the area.

Follow with your everyday concealer and/or foundation, being sure to pat it on over the color corrector instead of rubbing it on.

Good luck and feel free to send me any questions/comments/requests...anything!
